Remember anything

The app uses mnemonics for Spanish words, but the technique doesn't care what you feed it. The same two moves (turn it into an image, make the image do something) work on shopping lists, speeches, phone numbers and the name of the person you just met. These are the side quests.

  • How the method works. Start here. Sound link, image link, and why action, comedy and rudeness make it stick. Everything below builds on it.
  • Remembering a list. The story method and the peg system: a shopping list in two minutes, in order, with no paper.
  • The memory palace. The 2,500-year-old trick memory champions still use: park images along a route you already know.
  • Remembering numbers. Digits are the hardest thing to imagine. The major system turns them into words you can see.
  • Names and faces. Why you remember a man is a baker but forget he's called Baker, and how to fix it.
  • Books worth reading. Moonwalking with Einstein first, then the classics the memory champions learned from.

A way to practise all of them at once: learn a language. Every new word is a small memory problem, and the keyword method is the tutorial you'll use most.
