Who this is between

"We" is Omelas AI LLC, which runs the app and the community site. "You" is anyone who uses either. Using them means you accept these terms; if you don't, the app and the site are not for you.

What you can do

• Use the app to learn, for free, for as long as you like.
• Join the community site with a name, and optionally an email address.
• Vote, comment, suggest words, report pictures, and submit pictures within your plan's allowance.
• Buy a paid plan or a top-up if you want more pictures drawn to order. Paid plans renew monthly until you cancel, and you can cancel from your account page at any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.

What you give us when you submit

When you submit a picture, a keyword, a word, a sentence or a comment, you keep whatever rights you had in it, and you give us a permanent, worldwide, free licence to store it, show it, adapt it to the app's format, and distribute it inside the app and the community site. This licence continues after you leave, because a picture the community chose is part of the word for everyone who learned it. You promise that you have the right to give that licence: it's your own work, or you're allowed to use it, and it doesn't identify a real person without their consent.

Pictures the house draws from your keyword are ours; the keyword idea is yours and stays credited to your name while your account exists.

What you must not do

• Submit anything illegal, sexual, violent, hateful, or that targets a person.
• Put writing inside a picture, or break the other picture rules. That's not a legal matter, but it will be removed.
• Run more than one account to vote, or trade votes with others. Rings are detected and capped.
• Report pictures you know are fine. That costs reputation by design.
• Scrape the site, attack it, or try to get into someone else's account.

What we can do

• Remove any picture, comment or word, at any time, with the reason written in the public audit trail. Most removals are done by the rules in the conduct guide; a person handles the rest.
• Pause or suspend an account under those same rules, and close an account that keeps breaking them.
• Change the rules, the numbers and the plans. When we do, the guides change the same day, and a change that affects what you pay is announced before it applies.
• Stop running the service. If that ever happens, you'll have notice and a way to export your data.

Editorial decisions are the community's

Which picture wins, and which words are in, is decided by votes under published rules. We don't override those decisions except for safety, legality or a clear failure of the rules, and every such action is recorded with a reason.

Money

Prices are shown before you pay and charged through Stripe. We don't see or store your card details. If something goes wrong with a payment, write to us from your account page and we'll sort it out; refunds for a period you've clearly not used are given without fuss.

No promises we can't keep

The app and the site are provided as they are. We work to keep them running and correct, but we don't guarantee they always will be, and we're not liable for losses that come from using them beyond what you've paid us in the last twelve months, where the law allows that limit.

Leaving

You can delete your account from your account page. What that does, exactly, is in the privacy notice.
